Paleo Diet Cookbook

,
Paleo Recipe :

What is Paleo Diet?

Paleo Diet Cookbook

-The Paleo diet is a derivative from the word "Paleolithic", which was a certain time frame about 2.5 million years ago, but ended about 10,000 years ago. It is sometimes called the "ancestor diet", due in fact that the foods used in the recipes for Paleo foods were actually eaten during the paleolithic period long ago. Our ancestors were healthy as an ox and strong as a bear. At the same time they were incredibly lean. This is all, because of the diet they were on, because of their surroundings.

Paleo Diet Concept

-HIGH PROTEIN, LOW CARBS. Its that simple, there are twists and turns here and there, but the main concept is the high protein, with the low carbohydrate intake. The reason being, is studies have shown that lean meat, or high protein meals and diets actually stimulate the metabolism and lead to weight loss. Remember if your trying to lose weight or gain weight, it takes a 50% effort in the gym and 50% effort in the kitchen! This Paleo Diet Cookbook helps explain more in depth with recipes and overall understanding of the Paleo diet.

Paleo Foods

-The foods used in the Paleo Cookbook consist of food that is hunted in quantities for one sitting, as opposed to mass harvesting of certain crops, or taming livestock. Fish for example was one of the prime foods eaten back then, and has since been reborn in this Paleo Cookbook. The reason the hunters were so well dieted was due in part by many factors. For one there was no additives in the food they were eating back in the day, everything was fresh, and all the meat included omega-3 fatty oils, for that reason the Paleo Diet Cookbook incorporates this. It is almost impossible to recreate the exact diet for many reasons, but the main one is, (were not hunter/gatherers anymore). We are a laid back society that relishes itself with so many pleasures, and food is one of the biggest items on that list. Aside from the fact were all lazy now lets take a look at some main food ingredients inside this Paleo diet, and understand why its so effective.

Fish*
Offal*
Meat*
Eggs*
Fruit*
Nuts*
Seeds*
Vegetables*
Herbs/Spices*

A lot of sources will tell you that you should consume meat, as long as it does not contain additives. If you take this route, the Paleo Diet Cookbook will have many recipes that will involve grass fed meat, or other alternative forms of meat to ensure that you are receiving your omega3-6's, because these fatty oils are a major factor inside the entire concept behind the Paleo diet. They provide energy for your body, because you won't be eating any carbs, and they are extremely good for you heart, along with; skin, hair, healthy nails, and your brain health (omega-9).

The ABC's Of Paleo Food Guide

,
Paleo Recipe :

If you already heard about the Paleo diet, perhaps you're also aware of the foods included to create a healthy Paleo meal plan. If not, then might as well start putting it in plain words, speculations and all the trappings it entails.

The ABC's Of Paleo Food Guide

Paleo Diet, also known as Paleolithic Diet, Caveman Diet and Hunter-Gatherer Diet, is a type of diet based on the foods the ancient people eat during the Stone Age Era. Since they used hunting to source their food, their diet mainly included wild animal meat, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables.

In statistics, it was approximately 99% of what they ate all the time. The 1% is for stuff that they might have consumed occasionally or during the latter period of the era, when they learned how to settle in one area and is actually out of our scope of knowledge.

Considering the list of foods that one can eat in generous amounts, some that are in moderation and several that needs to be eliminated, it is natural to be confused and skeptical at first. However, since there is a wide selection of food guides, recipes and cookbooks, considering the Paleo diet might not be as hard as you thought it would be. And to give you a rough idea of the foods that you should and shouldn't eat. The list below might be helpful and somehow able to satisfy your curiosity.

First are the highly-encouraged foods. Any lean meat that is trimmed with visible fat will do-from pork and beef to goat and rabbit meat. Breasts of chicken, turkey and game hen are also good choices when it comes to poultry. Chicken, duck and goose eggs are also protein-enriched food so including them won't hurt.

You can also try organ meats as alternatives if you need to meet a budget because they are cheaper. Fish and shellfish are included as well so you won't have to worry about eating meat in all of your meals per day.

As for fruit, you can go from apple, berries and cantaloupes to pomegranate, tangerine and watermelon. That's how wide your selection is. Same goes for vegetables, though greens are the best, you can mix them with red and orange ones to make a nice blend of your nutrient intake.

As for the foods you should avoid, all dairy products, legumes, grains, starchy foods like cassava and potatoes, soft drinks and other drinks high in glycemic index and of course, sweets. Cavemen certainly were not fond of ice creams and candies in their time!

Paleo Diet Recipes - Hype or Healthy Logic

,
Paleo Recipe :

With so many fad diets and new information about health coming out every day, how does anyone wade through all the hype to discover some strategies and simple recipes that just plain make sense? To begin with, let's start with some of the basics.

Paleo Diet Recipes - Hype or Healthy Logic

· What does the human body need for fuel?
· How have we evolved to meet that need?
· What have we changed in the world around us over time and have those changes affected our diet and health?

The human body needs many things for energy, growth and longevity, and also to build an immune system that can fight off unwanted invasion. For countless centuries, humans filled all of these needs from the natural world around them. As hunter-gatherers they consumed only foods that were provided and made available by nature itself. They thrived on hunting wild game, and gathering fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and the roots, stems, and leaves of plants. Around one-third of their intake was game and fish, and the other two-thirds was plant-based food.

Over the course of human history, until about 10,000 years ago, our Paleolithic ancestors consumed only those foods that were best adapted to their metabolisms. Most research findings provide plenty of evidence that these hunter-gatherers were very healthy. They were taller, had larger brains, and were built stronger. Their shorter life expectancy can be logically attributed to extreme weather, accidents and infection, and predatory animals. They were extremely active, often walking an average of 19km (12 mi.) a day while foraging, with many short bursts of speed when hunting. The diet of our ancient ancestors has been thoroughly researched in recent years. The combination of their diet and plenty of exercise allowed their bodies to operate at maximum efficiency.

Then began some major changes as we entered the dawn of the Neolithic period. Over time, humans began to domesticate animals, and agriculture began to appear. Prior to this change, humans had never thought to drink the mother's milk from another species, and our metabolisms have still not adapted to it. The cultivation of grains began the process of refining foods, which were otherwise mostly inedible, and introducing those new products into our diet - yet another thing our natural metabolisms were not well equipped for. These two monumental changes, more than any other factors, have unmistakably altered the human diet, and health.

Some results of these changes in our diet are that 7 out of 10 Americans are currently either overweight or obese. We now suffer from chronic or degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease - afflictions, which only emerged when we shifted to agriculture. One in every 133 Americans suffer from Celiac disease. That's more than are affected by Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn's Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, and Parkinson's combined.

So, is a diet that is a modern day version of our Paleolithic ancestors diet just a bunch more hype, or does it actually make logical sense? The sweeping changes in our modern day diet have been brought on by agriculture, but our genes have not changed as quickly. We are still 99.99% identical in makeup to our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Our bodies still require the same high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. Genetically we are poorly equipped to handle the high-carbohydrate, low-protein diet of modern times.

Paleo Book

,
Paleo Recipe :

A Paleo Plan is a commitment to exclusively eating cuisine that could only found within the paleolithic era. The Paleo Style of living is a lot of work, but it is a delicious prize. The Paleo Diet strongly covers excellent habits, solid proteins, and a genuine passion for food. So, should I choose to invest in a Paleo Book? If you would like to eat joyfully, above normal, and prosperously, then Yes! Your aim should be to eat three times a day. Remember, eating is a very important function of your day. Definitely, begin to understand what natural truly means and eat as close to what nature intended.

Paleo Book

Yo! Eating healthy costs money, but owning good eating habits is essential. Eat three times a day. Why is this important? It's important because what you eat produces who you are. It produces your daily biological energy you need to deal with your life, so try to make smart decisions. Water dehydration for example can slightly impair your mind's focus and concentration. Seeds, fruits, and vegetables are just as necessary because of their fiber, vitamins, minerals and taste. This lifestyle requires discipline, so you must to be very prepared every day.

Proteins are literally our body's future building blocks and are plentifully found within a Paleo Book. They help us build strong bodies, people, and masterminds. Proteins help your serotonin levels, though not entirely by themselves. Serotonin is a bodily chemical that helps control your daily moods. Excessive use of caffeine can deplete our serotonin levels. By skipping meals, we expose our brain's chemical stability.

How will your life turn out? You have to enjoy and exquisitely love what you eat! Eat diversely. Try to eat organic foods. Abundance is an awesome view and a must. I prefer themes to my grub time like positivity, comedy, outdoors, and jazz. Eat with your family, relax and enjoy. If you want to give yourself a chance at today's success, you're going to need the energy found in food to work hard. Now, it is time to put all this into practice.

Is this how I should eat and should I invest in a Paleo Book? Honestly, that's completely up to you to decide on how you feel about it. Every day you have the opportunity to thoroughly live your life at it's best. Life is good, enjoy your life now or somebody else will.

Paleo Eating the Healthy Way

,
Paleo Recipe :

Paleo eating best imitates the diets of hunter-gatherers hundreds of years ago. In fact, in case you haven't already known, the Paleo Diet stems from the Palaeolithic era from whence the name was derived. This kind of diet combines seafood, lean meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Those who follow a Paleo diet generally experience an acne-free complexion, lean bodies and improved athletic performance. If you are ready to check out this new diet and become healthy and leaner, then try the Paleo way of eating. Furthermore, the Paleo lifestyle reduces the risk of cancer, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, osteoporosis and gastrointestinal diseases. The Paleo diet is indeed one of the world's healthiest diets. It prevents one from eating potatoes and beans that could not be eaten raw.

Paleo Eating the Healthy Way

The Paleo diet allows you to enjoy what you are eating. Try to spend a few hours at the start of every week by cooking large food batches to minimize the amount of time you spend on cooking for the whole week. Instead of removing completely from your diet the foods that you love to eat which are not Paleo-friendly, eat smaller amounts instead and eat them moderately. Cooking with spices will do wonders to your food and add variety and various flavors to your meals. Keep a handy meal replacement can of tuna in your bag, office, car or desk for a Paleo snack.

Always eat a variety of vegetables and in different colors to ensure you get all types of good nutrients and antioxidants. The key to this type of diet is to consume foods that are unprocessed and found in nature such as eggs, meat, roots, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables. With such a variety of ingredients, you can create all kinds of great recipes! Nevertheless, your taste buds will need some time to adjust at the start but your body will definitely appreciate the changes after a few weeks since you will be leaner, more active and healthier. Processed food is a no-no when following a good Paleo diet. This includes almost anything that comes in a bag or box. This also includes pasta, breads, wheat, flour, rice, corn and refined sugars.

The Paleo diet means finding alternatives to the usual processed food intake. For instance, instead of noodles, you can eat spaghetti squash, which is more delicious and healthier. Try cauliflower rice instead of rice and get berries for dessert instead of fat and sugar laden desserts. When you switch to a Paleo diet, you can expect to lower your carb intake by removing sugars and starches from your meals. Most people eat more carbs than what their bodies need and most of these carbs get converted by the body and stored as fats. You can get a sufficient amount of protein from nuts, meat and eggs. You can also get micronutrients like minerals, vitamins and antioxidants from vegetables and fruits. A person following a Paleo eating plan has a lower tendency to overeat and they will feel better and feel more active.

In a nutshell, for many years people have been eating the wrong foods and suffer the effects not only physically but psychologically as well. Nowadays, with the abundance of sweet foods, processed foods and foods with very high calories, a lack of energy, obesity and diseases are the obvious results. Now, more than ever is the perfect time to switch to an optimal diet. The foods that one should take must be suited to the genetically defined needs of the body. If you have been looking for a while for a diet but are not satisfied with the results, consider a Paleo diet now and eat in a healthy way.

Medifast Store Locations - Why You Need to Look Online Rather Than at Your Local Grocery Store

,
Paleo Cookie Recipe :

It's pretty common knowledge at my job and within my social circle that I'm on Medifast and have been for quite a while. Over the weekend, one of my coworkers asked which store offered the best price on Medifast. I had to explain to her that this isn't like a lot of diets that you can just pick up at your local drug store or super center. I'll explain what I mean in the following article.

Medifast Store Locations - Why You Need to Look Online Rather Than at Your Local Grocery Store

Why Medifast Isn't Available In Stores Or In Clinics: This program used to require doctor supervision. This is no longer the case. There is free support and counseling available on the company's website, but you no longer have to have a prescription to sign up. With that said though, you can't just pick it up the foods at the market either. It's not like weight watchers or optifast that you can get from your local grocer in aisle eight. And, many people confuse this program with Jenny Craig, which requires you to sign up with and get your food at a clinic.

This diet is available by the company or at a number of web sites on line. You order the food directly from the manufacturer. There is no middle man involved. I don't know this for sure, but I believe that there is a few reasons that the company does it this way. First, I think that encouraging you to go to the website also encourages you to take advantage of the free support and resources offered. These folks seem to spend a lot of time and resources on their company site. There are countless blogs (including Genie Francis' and Kristi Swanson's), menus, forums, success stories, recipes, and instructions, etc.

By encouraging you to regularly visit the site to order your food, the company is betting that you'll more likely to use the resources that they worked hard to create. And, I'm betting that they know if you make use of these tools, you're more likely to be successful. And, if you're successful, then you'll keep ordering the food. So, it's a win / win for everyone.

The Process Of Ordering Medifast Food Online: Placing an order is pretty simple. You just decide if you're going to go with a monthly order (and which one) or if you're going to order the food individually. Going with a package is the most economical option, but some folks will want to place a few individual orders to sample the food. If you're going with a package, you have a few options. There are women's, men's, heart, and diabetic programs.

By far, the most popular, (I think) is the 5 Plus 1 Women's package. This is the basic package which has you eating six times per day and gives you about 145 meals to work with a month. You'll get a sampling of many of the more popular foods (shakes, bars, oatmeal, chili, soup, fruit drinks, pudding, etc.) The base price of this one is about 9, but there are always coupons.

Probably the next popular choice is the women's momentum package. The momentum items have extra ingredients meant to boost your metabolism. Essentially, you get every thing that you would get in the 5 plus 1, but also thrown in are some metabolism boosting items (flavor infusers, lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) This one costs a little bit more, but people who like it swear that they lose more weight on it.

The final option is called "Design A Menu." With this option, you are basically designing your own package based on which foods and flavors that you like best. This sort of allows you the flexibility of choosing individual items with the lower cost (per meal) of a monthly package.

One of the biggest advantages of going with a package is that the company is very generous with coupons and discounts for volume. On the bottom of the order page, you'll see a blank space to enter in your promotional or coupon code. Don't forget to do this. Entering the code will either get you lots of free food or some money off of your order.

Low Carb Recipes For the Prism Weight Loss Program

,
Paleo Cookie Recipe :

With more and more people who are concerned with their weights and want to undergo a weight loss program, to choose the right kind of weight loss program to follow can be very difficult. This is because there are many programs out there that one can avail of and there are so many diet recipes that you can explore. The problem though is that what you can only do is to simply try the programs and the recipes first before you see the result of the program. This is the scenario that often beset those people who are into a diet program. As they say, you need to try for you to see the result. But one of the recipes that many people have tried and have proven to be effective is the recipes for the prism weight loss program.

Low Carb Recipes For the Prism Weight Loss Program

There are a number of recipes out there to follow for those who are into diets and one of those that interest many are recipes for the PRISM weight loss program. Diet program provided for by this company is that of a low carbohydrate and faith based program that emphasizes change in an individual's way of life rather than on temporary diet weight loss plan. The Prism weight loss program was developed sometime in 1990 and almost one hundred thousand people follow the program and formed a group of fellows who are also into this diet program. The group in essence becomes the support group of each one of them and is there to encourage one another and share their diet insights and experiences.

As for the recipes for the Prism weight loss program, the main diet recipes are on a low-carbohydrate meal plan which basically calls for cut on sugar, white bread and other processed foods. The program also allows certain leeway for sugar such as the use of unprocessed sugar like honey and even allows for a wider variety of food options. Also, the program aims to eliminate the intake of too many carbohydrates which come from fruits and vegetables. The program unlike the other diet program incorporates a variety of foods to choose from in order for you to have a right and balance diet.

When you join the program they provide for a dietary plan that you should follow for six weeks wherein the whole thing calls for a daily 1,200 to 1,400 calorie-diet. In Prism, what is emphasized is that one should opt for the healthy whole foods rather than the white, processed, and refined products. Almost everything in the diet program has to be weighed in order to ensure that you take just enough calories that your body can burn.
